Ted Iwere is the principal partner at Law Brief. He started journalism at the Nigerian Observer in August 1978, fresh from the University of Lagos where he graduated as a National Merit Award student in Mass Communication. After a year of reporting news, and writing features and editorials, he moved to the Daily Times stable where he was Sub Editor, Reporter and Staff Writer.
By September 1981, he proceeded to the Graduate School of Journalism at Columbia University, New York and the Centre for Publishing at New York University, New York, where he was awarded, respectively, a Master of Science in Journalism and a Certificate in Publishing.
Ted Iwere returned to Nigeria in February 1983 as pioneer Features Editor of The Guardian newspapers. He was also acting Editor of The Guardian on Sunday and founding Editor of The African Guardian.
In December 1988, he started Business magazine, which rested with the debut of the Daily Independent, where, from Project Director in January 2001, he became Executive Editor, Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer.
Daily Independent won the Nigerian Media Merit Newspaper of the Year Award for 2006 and 2008.
Ted Iwere, whose publishing interests include The Business Dispatch (www.thebusinessdispatch.com), specialises in Libel and Defamation, and Law of the Internet.
Ted Iwere holds a Bachelor of Laws degree from the University of Lagos and Barrister at Law from the Nigerian Law School, and enrolled as a Solicitor and Advocate of the Supreme Court of Nigeria in July 2003. His work experience includes the Law Union, a firm of Barristers, Solicitors and Arbitrators in Lekki, Lagos.
Ted Iwere is a member of the Nigerian Bar Association.
Eki Durojaiye is a Senior Associate at LawBrief. She is a seasoned legal practitioner with vast experience in civil litigation, tax advisory, labour/employment, immigration, debt recovery, corporate & commercial and property practice areas. Eki has extensive knowledge and experience in civil dispute resolution mechanisms including litigation, mediation and negotiation. She regularly advises clients (both local and international) on dispute resolution issues and represents clients at all Superior Courts of Record in Nigeria.
Eki Durojaiye is well versed with Company Secretarial Practice and has acted as Company Secretary to several organizations. She has helped incorporate and restructure several companies.
She has written several articles on Business Law and is a columnist in SMEFinance, a weekly e-newspaper committed to disseminating information on how to run and fund Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs).
Eki Durojaiye is law graduate from Ambrose Alli University and was called to the Nigeria Bar in November 2007. She holds a Master-of-Law Degree from the University of Lagos.
